Petrounian Citizens Makes Allegations Against Crier Administration

July 29th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

Letter to the editor:

Dear Sir,

Last Friday I submitted a letter to the editor of the Loudenian Crier expressing my concerns and the concerns of a large number of Petrounians over the disruptions and protests that occurred in the Loudenian Parliament.  We are even more concerned as the letter was never published.

Is this an example of how a free and open press operates in Loudenia?  With the kidnapping of the President of the Parliament and her safe return, we are even more concerned for the good relations between our neighboring countries.

As we have expressed before, we are also concerned about the new editor of the Crier.   As mentioned above, he has refused to print our letters to the editor and has been censuring the press.  Who is he?  Where does he come from?  What does he want to do?

We have done exhaustive research on the subject and can tell you that comes not from Loudenia or Petrounia but rather from Picksburgia.  This, as we all know, is tightly controlled by an authoritarian by the name of Gordon Mitchell.  Mitchell not only is a dictator he is also know for his crazy inane antics.  It has been reported to us that he has been seen in Loudenia recently.  His he in fact the new editor?  How to tell?  Do you recognize this man?  If so, citizens of Loudenia beware.

Two On the Floor, One Out the Door

July 28th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

Two bills have just been debated on the floor of Parliament, with Alexandra and her new parliamentary procedure consultant, Connor, keeping order.  The Immigration Reform Bill was voted down with a highly contested numbers debate and blue card program.  In the second part of the session, the Environment Education Bill passed which would set up education programs to teach the population about environmentally friendly policies.  The Parliament is on a five minute break, they will reconvene shortly.

Times Responds to the Crier

July 28th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

The Crier has just reported several grievances against the the Times.  The first regards the anonymity of our contributors.  The Times respects the wishes of our contributors to remain anonymous, just as the Crier respects their contributor Silence Dogood to remain anonymous in their publication.  Furthermore, the Times also invites the Crier to visit our comment page and discuss the different viewpoint the Times has on many different news events.  The more viewpoints there are on a particular event the easier the citizens of Loudenia will be able fo find the truth through the news.

Loudenia Crier Reports Another Skewed Story

July 25th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

Where are the facts about the protest?  One thing is for sure, they aren’t on the Loudenia Crier’s website.  In another instance of skewed reporting, the other Loudenian media gives no information about the protest, and reports it as only a blip on the Crier’s website.

Luckily the Times is here to give the people of Loudenia the facts they deserve.  The protest was held for multiple reasons.  The demonstration first protested the sensationalized reporting of the media, claiming that the media blinds the citizens.  Furthermore, the Crier makes no mention of the demands to return of the Loudenia’s founding father, Dr. Louden.  Secondly, there is no mention of the public destruction of the name of Loudenia.  During the last few minutes of the demonstration, the silent protest turned boisterous as the demonstrators chanted for an end to the biased media.

Keep checking the Loudenia Times for updates during this turbulant era in our nations history.

Protest at the Prime Minster Debate

July 25th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

There was a protest today during the Leader of Parliament.  The protesters had many different demands, including calling for an unbiased media.  During the demonstration, one protester publicly destroyed a Loudenian flag while another walked in with a black bag over his/her head symbolizing the media blinding the faithful citizens of Loudenia.  More to come later…

FIRED UP AND READY TO GO: MORE LOUDENIANS CALL FOR BALENCED AND RESPONSIBLE MEDIA COVERAGE

July 25th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

Once upon a time Benjamin Franklin pointed out:” People can be divided into three classes – those that are movable , those that are immovable”. and those that move”. This remark seems to be even more relevant today when the role of media is virtually visible in all walks of life and is more often than not helping us move in what we hope will be the right direction.

However, as responsible and active citizens of Loudania and as exponents of political parties we hold the belief that it is our moral duty to prevent any ultimate inaccuracies and any media hype and incorrect coverage that might have a harmful impact on our identity as individuals and politicians.

To cut a long story short, we have felt that during a short period of time the press has been perpetually and invariably steering clear of the actual value and the essence of our statements as politicians. What is more, the very same unsatisfactory media coverage has been detrimental to the internal relations among the parties and has been a hindrance to building a successful partnership within the period when the articles have been published. To our mind, it is not by any means acceptable to come to terms with any attempts to bring about heated discussions among parties when such dissent does not actually exist in reality and to sweep the actual facts under the carpet when all the society of Loudania needs is truthful representation and credible ruminations based on data and precise quotations.

To sum up, we really do hope that our grievance and objections will be taken into account by the representatives of the media whose power we do respect and value and we hope that the press will take the necessary steps toward the development of a impartial and politically correct and unbiased media coverage.

Outraged Citizens Speak Out Against the Crier

July 25th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

To Whom It May Concern:

I am disappointed by the Loudenian Crier’s recent descent into yellow journalism. The recent “breaking news” where the LEDU accused the LEAR of exiling the founding father is nothing more than a subjective account by one crazed party. It is disheartening that the Loudenien Crier which I formerly held with such esteem would even consider this trash worthy of being published when it better belongs on a daytime television show. It seems that no one from the LEDU or from the LC remembers history that is taught in every school across Loudenia, that the entire nation of Loudenia, in 1972, rose up and exiled the man who we saw as usurping too much power from the people. Dr. Louden refused to follow the Constitution which he himself helped to author. The LC’s sensationalist journalism is completely false and it seems to be a source to be trusted no more.

TFTP States Greivances Against the Crier

July 25th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

It has been brought to the attention of the LFTP and the other political parties that there are issues regarding the publication of respective articles.
Many members of the LFTP have found fault with the news article profiling our political party. Our grievances stem from the lack of appropriate quotations pertaining to the subject matter of the article. The only verbatim quotation provided concerns the status of our founding father, exile Allen Louden. The remainder of the article discusses the platform of the LFTP, and our prospective candidate for prime minister. While it has been acknowledged that the information provided about the identity of our candidate was incorrect due to an error in miscommunication; the balance of quotations used to substantiate the paraphrase was absent. Quotations are necessary to validate the accuracy of the respective article, and in the future, we would appreciate it if more quotes were applied within respective articles to assist in their validation and add accuracy to the statements provided by the media.

Who Are We?

July 25th, 2008 Author: thomaspaine

We are the citizens of Loudenia, the ones who aren’t represented by the other Loudenian media group.  We are the working class, we are the forgotten, we are the forsaken, and we demand the truth.  We live in a world where the news has been sensationalized, dramatized and scandalized.  We are Loudenia and we demand the truth.
